Group Surf Lessons: Dry-land Intro to Surfing & Surf History
If you’re not quite ready to jump on a wave, or already have a group with surf gear that does not need water instruction, Traveler Owner and ex pro surfer Julie Cox offers a perfect alternative out of the water. Julie used to be the Director of the California Surf Museum in North County San Diego and was head instructor at Las Olas Surf Camp in Mexico. She has a wealth of knowledge and surf history to impart in this 1hr talk. Topics include basic surf history, how waves are formed, surf etiquette and basic safety when riding waves. The talk is held in the backyard garden and includes a short beach walk to observe waves and surfers. You can opt to paddle out on your own after the talk, take a longer beach walk or hike the beautiful trails nearby.
